Mission
Worldview Art Center is a visual arts non-profit that engages the neighborhoods of the Near West Side of Milwaukee through grassroots arts initiatives, pop-up events, as well as virtual exhibition experiences. Enhancing the quality of life for our community through engagement in the visual arts, Worldview empowers residents to explore the visual arts and their own creativity.
Vision
We will be a model of creative excellence that empowers residents to produce and exhibit their art in the underserved neighborhood of Milwaukee’s Near West Side. We aspire to build long-lasting relationships with residents and other organizations as we promote creativity through the arts.
Rev-Up
In 2018, Worldview’s Founding Director, Erik Eide was chosen as a Finalist in the citywide Business Plan Competition: REV-UP. The process involved writing a business plan for Worldview Art Center, a proposed art destination for education and exhibition on Milwaukee’s Near West Side. The competition was supported by Marquette University’s HUB 707 https://www.marquette.edu/707-hub/ as well as The Near West Side Partners https://nearwestsidemke.org/ . Eide presented his plan to a panel of judges and an audience of over 300 at Milwaukee’s Rave Theater. The momentum garnered has propelled Worldview Art Center to present a number of exhibitions, a pop-up boutique and an initiative to supply residents with art supplies and programming.
